Warmth, shelter, and a safe living environment are basic human needs. Yet even in our own community, there are families who struggle to satisfy these needs. Despite honorable efforts, they are getting further behind. BGIA works to locate the families most in need, to raise funds for building materials, and to bring together skilled construction professionals and student organizers to renovate these homes so that respectable people can live in a decent home. Building Goodness in April is a partnership between students of the Darden Graduate School of Business and the Building Goodness Foundation. Each year, we renovate from 8 to 12 homes of low-income families in the Charlottesville/Albemarle community. Since 1991 thousands of people have volunteered and hundreds of homes have been renovated with the generous support of local contractors. You can help by referring a homeowner in need and donating funds for building materials. |
